FAQ Annuity

The Annuity Plan allows you to borrow money from your Annuity account. There are two types of loans offered:

  • Personal Loans, with a term of less than five years, and
  • Home loans for the purchase of a primary residence, with a term between 5 and 30 years.

For more information regarding limitations on loan amount and loan repayment, please see the “Loans” page in the Annuity section.

If you wish to take a loan, you will need to log into your account at www.massmutual.com/journey. Click the “My Account” tab at the top of the screen, and then the “Loans” link under the Account Features menu. You may also call MassMutual for assistance at (800)743-5274.

When am I able to take a distribution from my Annuity account?

There are several circumstances in which you are able to take a disbursement from your Annuity account including retirement, becoming age 60 (partial distribution), being out of the industry for more than a full year, total and permanent disability, or a temporary disability that lasts 45 or more days. For more information regarding each of these types of distributions, please see the “Distribution Types” page.
